Chinese herbal medicine is the main modality of treatment within TCM- (traditional chinese medicine), dating back over 2,500 years. Formulas are written to treat disease, strengthen the body's energy, and eliminate factors which are causing sickness. A formula is a compilation of anywhere from 2-16 herbs carefully and specifically blended for each person based on their signs and symptoms. herbs are from vegetable, animal, and mineral sources, but are mainly twigs, flowers, leaves, barks, and roots.

Herbs may be taken as herbal decoctions, powdered, or granulated to be consumed as a tea. Herbs are also used as liniments, plasters, washes, or creams. Herbs are also available in pill form. Chinese herbal medicine treats a wide spectrum of diseases. Acute disorders, such as the flu, common cold, sore throat, or diarrhea. More chronic ailments like gynecological disorders, digestive issues, fatigue, depression, sleep disturbances, blood disorders, degenerative diseases, autoimmune disorders. The aches and pains of exercise or the aging process are supported with the use of chinese herbs.
